Speciaal diner
by Chris Sleiman
To mark the final weekend of A time when the dogs barked every night the curators of the group show invited Chris Sleiman to host a dinner in the fellows home.
Get your tickets here, spots are very limited! No tickets at the door.
Chris Sleiman is an artist and researcher based between Beirut and Amsterdam. His practice examines the vegetative souls through minor rituals, fabulations, and recipes. Using food as a medium for day-to-day survival, the practice weaves a collection of invitations between foraging, cooking, and serving food to explore the political implications of eating and the communal value that comes with it.
In the past year Sleiman has been hosting dinner clubs in M4gastatelier residency program in Amsterdam. The suppers are collectively experienced through storytelling, intertwining tales of colonial history and transporting the guests to a land that has been under occupation, as we witness unfolding day after day. On Friday 22nd of November, Sleiman will centre the dinner around the history of olive oil, exploring its origins, the various techniques used in its production, and the recent changes driven by different influences.
